The U17 Team of Minago Star Football Club won the championship of Division Academique de Football des Cadets de Muha "DAFCAMU" on February 29, 2020 in Muha Commune of the City of Bujumbura. This final match concluding the championship for U17 Boys Teams for Football Cadets Clubs of the municipal football association of DAFCAMU was played at Sokarti Football Field in Kinanira, Zone Musaga of Commune Muha, opposing Minago Star FC to Tara Star FC. Both football clubs, Tara Star FC and Minago Star FC, are members of the DAFCAMU local football association and they owned by the Star Football Academy, a soccer training division of the NGD Foundation's sports department based in Magara and operating in 13 localities of 3 western provinces of Burundi. The Academy currently trains more than 1,200 kids aged 7 through 18 amongst others. For the Tara Star Football Club's boys, this was a very challenging moment for them as it was their first time to be in this kind of league since their club's formation and they had just done very well during pool games level where they came out in the first position of their pool group made of 8 clubs of U17 boys teams. The boys of Tara Star FC certainly look forward to brighter future as it is pretty much clear that the odds are with them based on that fact that their first appearance in the league ended them in the finals. These are the kinds of performances that rarely happen to new clubs in any league. Tara Star Football Club was founded on July 5, 2019 by John-Clinton Nsengiyumva in Tara township of Zone Magara in Commune Bugarama of Rumonge Province. The Club is chaired by Mr. Innocent Nahimana and it trains 3 boys teams: a U13 team, U15 team, and a U17 team. Their home field is Magara Football Field in Magara. Minago Star Football Club trains 4 boys teams: a U13 team, U15 team, U17 team, and a U19 team. The Club is based in Minago township of Zone Minago in Commune Rumonge of Rumonge Province in the West-southern part of Burundi. The Chairperson of the team is Mr. Manasseh Nsengiyumva. The club's home field is Minago Football Field at Minago Catholic Church. Please click here for photos of this final match of 2019-2020 U17 Season of DAFCAMU. |
